BMW G80 M3 G82 M4 & G87 M2

The current M generation - G80/G81 M3, G82/G83 M4 and G87 M2, all on the S58. Like the F8x before it, the three share a platform and most of a parts catalogue, and the engine is proving even stronger than its predecessor.

The strongest M engine yet

The S58 has picked up where the S55 left off and gone further - a closed-deck 3.0 twin-turbo six that takes a Stage 1 map to around 600hp and Stage 2 hardware comfortably beyond, on internals that haven't needed touching. The G8x chassis takes the power just as calmly, xDrive cars especially. The aftermarket matured fast because everything learned on the F8x carried over: cooling first, then breathing, then boost.

The proven upgrade path

01
Stage 1
Map only - the S58 jumps to roughly 600hp on pump fuel with factory hardware untouched.
02
Stage 2
Downpipes and a heat exchanger upgrade with a matched map - the consistency unlock for road and track.
03
Chassis & braking
Coilovers, camber and pads/discs sized for a 600hp car - xDrive cars eat front brakes on track.
04
Beyond
Upgraded turbos and fuelling are still young on this engine - scoped case-by-case through our custom mapping.

In-house ECU tuning for the S58
Stage 1-3 and custom mapping for the S58, all done in-house - the map to match the hardware above.

G8x - frequently asked

Do M2, M3 and M4 parts interchange?

Largely yes - one platform, one engine. The G87 M2's shorter body means some exhaust and aero parts are specific; xDrive vs RWD affects a handful of chassis items. Fitment notes call out every exception.

How much does a Stage 1 make on the S58?

Around 590-620hp on pump fuel depending on spec and fuel quality - with the factory engine untouched. It's the biggest single gain available on the car.

Will tuning work with the factory warranty?

A remap can affect the warranty on engine and drivetrain components, and dealers can detect flashes. We'll talk you through the real-world position - and we back our own work with a workmanship guarantee.

Do you offer ECU tuning in-house?

Yes - Stage 1-3 and custom ECU mapping are done fully in-house. We don't currently offer parts fitting, but we're happy to advise on your install.
