The five-cylinder's last stand
The 8Y RS3 is almost certainly the final home of Audi's 2.5 TFSI - and it's the best version yet, pairing the proven 400hp five with a torque-splitting rear axle. Because the engine carries over from the late 8V, the tuning path arrived ready-made: Stage 1 lands around 470hp with the drivetrain untouched. The S3's evo4 EA888 is newer ground, but MQB Evo hardware from the Mk8 Golf R world fits, and the 2024 333hp update sweetened the base.
The proven upgrade path
8Y - frequently asked
Does 8V RS3 hardware fit the 8Y?
Much of the engine-side hardware does - the DNWA five-cylinder carries over. Chassis and exhaust routing changed with MQB Evo, so those parts are 8Y-specific; listings are explicit.
What about the GPF?
Post-2019 petrol Audis run a particulate filter. Our exhaust listings state whether they're GPF-back (fully compliant) or replace it - the latter is for off-road use and will trigger emissions testing failures.
Is the 333hp S3 update tunable?
Yes - the 2024 S3's evo4 responds like the Golf R's: roughly +50-60hp from Stage 1, with hardware support arriving quickly.
Do you offer ECU tuning in-house?
Yes - Stage 1-3 and custom ECU mapping are done fully in-house. We don't currently offer parts fitting, but we're happy to advise on your install.
